RIVANNA

to truly know the place that's new 
you've only to find the flowing river,

curling in its bed of sand,

winding through a heartfelt town 
painted in the colors 
of rebirth and redemption,

where the artist's way flourishes 
and herons perch 
to watch the shiners navigate 
through sweet, cool shallows.
